What information do I need to send money?

Information will vary depending on the delivery options you choose.

If money is deposited in the recipient’s account, you will need to get the following information:

  • Full name of the recipient.
  • Bank account number info.
  • Address.
  • Phone Number.
  • Email.

If money is being picked up at any of our correspondent locations, please the below information will be needed:

  • o Full name of the recipient. Name must be exact match of the full name on the government issued ID that the recipient will use for identification when he/she goes to pick up the cash.
  • Address.
  • Phone Number.
  • Email.

Recipient’s email in both cases is optional.

How much money can I send?

As soon as you sign up, you can send up to $999 USD per day. You will be able to send up to $2,999-$5,000 USD in 30 days or up to $9,999 USD in 180 days by supplying additional information to help us ensure a Secure Money Transfer experience while meeting Federal and State regulatory requirements. You will be prompted to submit additional documentation whenever you try to send more than your current sending limit. Sending limits are applied per account. The minimum amount you can send is $10 USD.

If you reside in Arizona, you will be able to send up to $999 USD per day across all levels.

What are the money transfer fees?

Fees vary depending on the amount you send and destination used in the transaction.

Which currencies can be sent and received?

All Sengo money transfers are paid for in U.S. dollars by the sender, and they are paid out to the recipient in U.S. dollars in all countries except for the following countries where they are paid out in local currency:

  • Argentina
  • Colombia
  • Dominican Republic
  • Guatemala
  • Honduras
  • Mexico

What delivery methods can I choose from?

You can select 3 types of delivery options for the recipient to receive the money: Cash Pickup, Bank Deposit or Home Delivery. Home Delivery service is only available in Dominican Republic.

How long does a money transfer usually take?

Sengo is strongly committed to getting your money to your recipients as fast as possible. The time it takes to complete a money transfer transaction varies by country, the method of delivery you select and the payment method. You will be always notified as your transaction progresses and moves to completed status.

What information does the recipient need to pick up the money?

Your recipient should provide the transaction ID, the PIN/CLAVE (provided in the second confirmation email) and a valid government issued I.D to the Cash Pickup Agent or Correspondent.

Transaction ID and PIN/CLAVE information can be found in the second confirmation email generated upon a cash pickup money transfer transaction is processed by you. Our system sends 3 automated emails for cash pickup transactions. The first one is the receipt of the transaction. The second one is the transaction processed confirmation email that includes the PIN and cash pick up instructions. The second email is sent once the transaction is released after your payment is processed and it should arrive within 15-30 minutes after the first confirmation email, transaction receipt email. The third email is the automated email confirmation that the money has been picked by the recipient.

Can I make changes to my transaction?

Please note that once you submit your transaction, edits are limited to requesting a modification in recipient’s name for a typo or cancellation in pending transactions only. If transactions are already in completed status, we will not be able to modify or cancel the transaction. To request a modification or cancellation, please contact Customer Care at 855-398-2569. 

How do I cancel a money transfer?

To do a cancellation, please follow the next steps:

  1. Click View Transaction History button on the recent transactions section or go to Transactions from the Left menu.
  2. Transaction history main page show history of all transactions.
  3. Search for the specific transaction.
  4. Click the grey icon
  5. Click Cancel Request
  6. If the cancellation is confirmed, you will receive a cancellation Receipt and we will start the refund process.

If the “cancel” option is not available, please call Customer Care at 855-398-2569 to request the cancellation. You will receive a notification email of the cancel request. And once the cancellation request is approved by processor, you will receive a confirmation email that cancel request has been approved and that the refund process will start. In case the transaction cannot be cancelled, you will receive an email indicating that the transaction was completed.

How long will it take to get my refund after I cancel a money transfer transaction?

If you cancel your transaction and money has not been picked up at correspondent, deposited or delivered to your recipient, you will get the refund within 5 to 10 business days of requesting your cancellation.

How do I track a money transfer?

You can track the status of your money transfer transaction in the Transaction History page on the website or app. Additionally, Sengo also sends email notifications to keep you informed about status changes in your transaction. Please follow the next steps to go to Transaction History page:

  1. Go to Home Page.
  2. Click Transaction History.
  3. Transaction history main page show history of all transactions.
  4. Search for the specific money transfer transaction.

Bill Pay

What type of bills can be paid with Sengo?

Sengo lets you pay utility bills like phone, internet, gas, cable, etc. in many countries by offering you an extensive catalogue of domestic and international payees/billers that vary by country. Some of the major providers include DISH Network, Direct TV, Verizon, Time Warner Cable, etc.

How does Sengo Bill Pay work?

Sengo lets you pay bills in Mexico, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Jamaica, the Philippines and United States. Simply create a free Sengo account or, if you already have one, just log in and follow these steps:

  1. Select the Pay Bills icon on the home page or click Start a Transaction on the left menu and then click Pay Bills. You can use also click the + button at the bottom right to start a transaction from anywhere in the application.
  2. Click to add or select a Biller
  3. Enter the account details ensuring the account information exactly matches the account information registered with the biller. Then save the biller. If you are paying a bill for a relative, the entered information should exactly match the name, phone number and other information registered with the biller.
  4. Enter amount to pay. For an International Biller, you can directly enter the amount of the foreign currency owed into the “Deliver” input box, and the US Dollar amount due will automatically populate.
  5. Select from the available service types: Standard, Next Day, Same Day. Note: Not all billers offer all service types.
  6. Enter a Payment method or select a previously entered payment method. Your selection will determine the fee to be paid for the transaction.
  7. Click the checkbox next to “I’ve read and agreed to User Agreement and have read the Consumer Fraud Warning after reading User Agreement and Consumer Fraud Warning.” (To read, click on the corresponding links).
  8. Review all the information before completing the transaction.
  9. Confirm payment by clicking “Confirm & Send”.

Can I track the status of my Bill Pay transaction?

You can track the status of your bill pay transaction in your Transaction History. Please follow these steps to go to the Transaction History page:

  1. Go to Home Page.
  2. Click Transaction History on the Home Page or Transactions within the left menu.
  3. Transaction History main page displays the history of all transactions.
  4. Scroll or search for the specific bill pay transaction, and use click the wrench to view details and transaction status history.

How long will it take my Bill Payment to be posted?

  • Depending on the type of service selected (Standard, Next Day, Same Day), your payment will post that day or within 3 business days from your payment date.
  • Same Day: Payments will be posted to the biller on the same day if transaction is completed before 6 p.m. EST.
  • Next Day: Payments will be posted to the biller on the next day if transaction is completed before 6 p.m. EST.
  • Standard: Payments will be posted within 2 to 3 days.

How do I verify payment with the biller?

If you need to verify that your bill payment has posted with your biller, please contact your biller directly.

Can I cancel a bill pay transaction?

Please call Customer Care at 855-398-2569 to request a bill pay cancelation. The agent will either cancel your transaction immediately or contact the biller on your behalf to request a cancelation. However, if the bill payment has been processed and completed by the biller, you will not be able to cancel.

Can I set up recurring bill pay?

We do not currently support recurring payments. You must log in and complete a bill payment each time you need to pay a bill. However, your biller information is saved after you process your first transaction/ And, you can make future payments within seconds by just clicking “Pay Again” on your Recent Transactions on the Home page or within Transaction History.

Phone Reload

How does a phone reload work?

Sengo offers instant domestic and international reloads and ePin reload. We work with major carriers in more than 30 countries. Simply create a Sengo account if you don’t have one yet or if you have a Sengo account, just log in and follow the next steps:

  1. Select reload type.
    • Reload
    • Epin
  2. Click add carrier.
  3. Select country.
  4. Type carrier in find carriers field.
  5. Fill out all fields in the account details section.
    • Account Nickname (optional)
    • Country Code (optional)
    • Cell Number
    • Confirm Cell Number
    • First Name (optional)
    • Last Name (optional)
    • Click save.
  6. Enter amount to load.
  7. Click next.
  8. Add payment or select payment method if you have entered payment methods previously.
  9. Enter promo code if you have one.
  10. Click I’ve read and agreed to User Agreement and have read the Consumer Fraud Warning after reading User Agreement and Consumer Fraud Warning”. To read click on corresponding links.
  11. Review information before completing transaction.
  12. Click Confirm & Send.
  13. Prompt message will confirm that your carrier was reloaded with the selected load amount and provide a confirmation number for the reload transaction.
  14. For instant domestic and international reloads, the mobile phone will be credited instantly and your recipient will get an SMS the moment it arrives.

Can I reload any amount?

Sengo lets you choose from a range of reload amounts. Simply select carrier, type of reload and enter the number and you will be able to select one amount from several options.

How will I know if the reload transaction was successful?

You can track the status of a reload transaction in the Transaction History page on the website or app. Additionally, Sengo also sends email notifications to keep you informed about status changes in your transaction. Please follow the next steps to go to Transaction History page:

  1. Go to Home Page.
  2. Click Transaction History.
  3. Transaction history main page show history of all transactions.
  4. Search for the specific reload transaction.

Can I cancel a reload transaction?

No. Reloads and e-pins are instant and cannot be canceled.

How can I refer a friend?

Referring your friends is very simple. Start inviting your friends to try Sengo by following the next steps:

  1. Go to Refer a friend section in the app or website.
  2. Select any of the different ways you can use to recommend Sengo to your friends.
  3. Your friends will get a unique link to try Sengo.
  4. Your friends should use the link to sign up and complete a transaction with us.

For every friend that completes his first qualifying transaction, you both will get an email with a promo code plus your friend’s first transaction has no fee.
